Greek sports and runners.

A cool fact on the Greeks is the Olympics. The Olympics were meant to honor Olympus. The Olympics is meant for a lot of sports and tournaments for rewards. The Greeks wanted to do sports because they loved to do sports. Today, the Olympics are a major international sporting event watched by millions of people from different countries. After reading about the Olympics, I read a story about Pheidippides who was a messenger for the Greeks. He ran from the plains of Marathon, to the city of Athens, to announce a victory against the Persians, then collapsed from exhaustion. Think about this. How would sports be today without the Greeks?

  1. I think the sports well be the same thing. Because the sports are all around the world. And all the people always do sports indoors, and outdoors. But the Olympics as you said they are created by the Greeks, and its a cool fact! And good job on this.

  2. I think that Zeus created Olympics because he gathers the gods every 4 years to celebrate what they have done. So then Zeus named this tradition Olympics but then he added hames to it to celebrate so it was called the olympic games. Like you said millions of people watch it because it is the biggest event in a 4 years but does every country get to try out for the Olympic Games? if there is a thin where each country gets to try out that would be more fair. I like your paragraph it is really explains what Olympics is.
