He's the god of the see, he controls the oceans, it's Poseidon! The best god in my opinion is obviously Poseidon , but why you may ask, well here's why. First off, is being god of the sea not enough for you, well also I like his trident, his main weapon. Second off he can basically control the way the people on Earth live and trade in our modern age. Like if he wanted to he could stop all trade by putting up giant walls of water up around the ocean. Lastly, He in my opinion is also just amazing with his powers and not to mention, he fought Zeus, the king of god's, and didn't get destroyed? Well anyways thank you for reading, and who is your favorite god?

Poseidon's Wrath
Poseidon's Wrath
I know that we all know who Poseidon is. Anyways Poseidon is the god of the sea and tides. Also his symbol is the horse. He is probably one of my favorite gods out of the 12 Olympians. Oh ya and his weapon is the Trident, not a fork. A fork has four metal prongs a Trident has three, and he has one son a demigod name Percy (short for Perseus).
The Greeks loved beauty, so it should be no surprise that they loved shiny healthy hair. They used hairbrushes. They brushed their hair every day, over and over, to keep it as shiny as possible!Once they were done brushing their hair, first they would check it carefully in a mirror to make sure every strand was bright and healthy. Then, they would scent and arrange their hair. Women used scented waves and lotions to arrange their hair in highly designed and interesting styles. They also braided their hair and wrapped it up on top on of their heads. They even wore their hair sometimes in ponytails. They used headbands. They used hair ornaments to keep their hair in place.
History of Poseidon
Poseidon, the lord of the seas is the second oldest brother when there mom Rhea gave birth to them. In the titan war, the cyclops gave Poseidon a trident. His trident allows him to control waters and earthquakes. Poseidon was married to medusa until Perseus came and cut her head. He might have sought revenge is Perseus hadn't been Zeus's son. From medusa, her two not borned children sprang. One is pegasus and the other is Chrysaor the the golden blade. For more about Poseidon click here. Who is your favorite god?

Greek sports and runners.
A cool fact on the Greeks is the Olympics. The Olympics were meant to honor Olympus. The Olympics is meant for a lot of sports and tournaments for rewards. The Greeks wanted to do sports because they loved to do sports. Today, the Olympics are a major international sporting event watched by millions of people from different countries. After reading about the Olympics, I read a story about Pheidippides who was a messenger for the Greeks. He ran from the plains of Marathon, to the city of Athens, to announce a victory against the Persians, then collapsed from exhaustion. Think about this. How would sports be today without the Greeks?
GREEK GOD THAT THINKS CHILDREN ARE YUMMY!!!!!!!!
Cronus was the leader and youngest of the first generation of Titans, the divine descendants of Uranus, the sky, and Gaia, the earth. He was known to eat his children.
In this comic they just made a baby and he said he looks scrumptious because he wants to eat him. Also in the bottom right corner it shows a bottle of BBQ sauce to put on the kid when he eats him. I think cronus is a terrible person to be eating his children. My favorite god is Nike. This god is the god of victory. I would be awesome to be this god because he would win in every sport and it is the name of my favorite shoe brand. If you could be any greek god who would you be?
Percy Jackson and Myths
When I hear the word mythology I always think about Zeus and the other Olympians. Greek mythology was used in ancient Greece as a religion. It’s still read today in many ways. Greek myths are really fun to read. When I got into the myths it all started from the Percy Jackson series. It’s a really good series that doesn't really mess up the actual myths like other books that totally reverse the story. If the Greeks didn’t make myths like this I wouldn’t be so interested in the Greeks. Tell me what other Greek myth books you like or would like to read?
Zeus and Hades Greek Gods
My favorite god is Zeus because he ruled the all of the gods. He is the god of thunder so when it is raining and you hear thunder have in mind that it is Zeus. I also like Hades even though he is bad his personality is cool and his pet. His pet is a three headed devil dog named Cerberus. Zeus's signs are his thunderbolt, eagle, bull and oak. Haded ruled the underworld and Zeus ruled the sky. Which god is your favorite?
The Famous Acropolis
One of the world's most famous and visited ancient architecture is from Greece. The Acropolis was in the city of Athens and was the centerpiece for the city. The Acropolis was made up by a bunch of famous buildings all rested on a giant rock cliff. The most famous of the structures is the Parthenon that is 101 feet wide and 228 feet long, and made of the finest white marble. The Parthenon was made 2500 years ago, and was made as a temple for the goddess Athena. Do think there is a more impressive.
Athena: symbol is an owl.
Athena Glaukopis is a form of the Wisdom-Goddess Athena in Her aspect of a bright-eyed Owl Goddess. Glaukopis is related to the Greek glaux, the name for the little owl (in the Latin Athene noctua), the specific type of owl sacred to Her (though despite its Latin name it is just as likely to be out during the day as at night). The wittle little owl—very much lives up to its common name, as it generally does not clear eight inches tall even on its tippy-talons. Athena may have some of Her origins in an Owl-Goddess Who could take both owl and human form; and in the Odyssey Athena typically disappears in a rush of wings or in the form of a fellow bird of prey such as a seahawk. If She was in fact first an Owl-Goddess then it may be that Her role as Wisdom-Goddess springs out of the Owl-Goddess role; for the intense staring eyes of the owl made it emblematic of bright wisdom and intelligence. What is your favorite symbol to the other Greeks gods?
The Greekiest Gods
Greece's Unknown Monsters
This post is about the more "unknown" monsters of Greek mythology that you probably don't know about such as the (not really) infamous SKOLOPENDRA (or Scolopendra). A gargantuan sea-monster with hairy nostrils, flat crayfish-like tail and rows of webbed feet lining its sides. Or maybe you know about the even less infamous, Mormo, In Greek mythology, Mormo was a spirit who bit bad children, and was said to have been a companion of the goddess Hecate. The name was also used to signify a female vampire-like creature in stories told to Greek children by their nurses to keep them from misbehaving. You may know about The Ichthyocentaurs. The Ichthyocentaurs were sea-god brothers named Bythos and Aphros whose parents were the mighty Poseidon and the sea goddess Amphitrite. These guardians of the sea are described as being part man, part horse, part fish, with lobster claws for horns on their head. Little is known about their purpose, but legend tells they carried the defeated companions of the god King Dionysus back to the sea and were pretty much centaurs of the ocean. So I leave you with a question, Did you know any of these monsters even existed? (in Greek myth)
King of the Gods
The king of the gods, lord of sky, Zeus! He controls the weather. He decides when it rains. He decides when it storms. He decides when thunders. He decides where it rains. He decides where is storms. He decides where is thunders! Zeus is one of the most popular gods in Greek mythology. Mainly because he is the King Of The Gods and Goddesses. They might all have power but he has the most. There is also a myth that Zeus turned Epimethius into the moon and Prometheus into the sun. The reason the sun is brighter than the moon was because he was Prometheus was burning with anger because he cared a lot more for humans. Zeus is one of the most interesting Gods in my opinion, even though it is a myth that Zeus exists, I feel like he is the most loyal and actually uses his brain so he can get what he wants. So tell me, who is your favorite Greek God?
Olympic Games
Have you ever wondered who created the olympics was , and why it was created? It was created to honor Zeus for what he has done for people. It was a religious festival held every 4 years in Olympia, Greece. It was a competition between a bunch of city-states which they played different types of games to determine the winner. Are any of you guys or girls think you have what it takes to get into the Olympics?
Zap! Zap! Zeus!
Zeus a greek god. Zeus is the god of other gods and goddesses and lightening. His primary weapon are his trusty thunder bolts. Zeus is married to a goddess, his sister, named Hera, the goddess of marriage and women. Zeus had many sons like the brave Hercules who slayed the deadly and head growing beast, called Hydra. Zeus lives on top of Mt. Olympus. Zeus and his family are some gods you don’t want to mess with. Who is your favorite greek god?
All about Aphrodite and Adonis!!!
A lot of people don’t know about the myth of Aphrodite and Adonis. That is why I am going to tell you about the myth of them today. The myth of Aphrodite and Adonis is one of the most popular greek myths. Aphrodite and Adonis is a classic myth about lust and rejection, enhanced with several spicy details about the Goddess of love and lust and the beautiful mortal Adonis. The first myth of Aphrodite and Adonis involves the man’s parents and is a story about beauty, love and jealousy. Adonis’s mother’s name is myrrha or smyrna and his father was King Cinyrus of Cyprus. Did you know as much as you know now about Aphrodite and Adonis?
Ares and Athena, Warriors
I think the Greeks had a very interesting religion because they had a god for each segment of human life. My favorite god was Ares because he was very adamant and hot-headed. Ares was the god of war and was very strong. I also like Athena because she is the god of wisdom and strategy and I think strategy is very important. I think this painting on the clay jar is cool because it shows Ares and Athena fighting.
I like to look at pottery at museums because I think they are really cool.
Zeus and His History!!!
When I think of Greek things. I think of the Greek gods. In particular Zeus was the god of the sky and ruler of the Olympian gods. Zeus became the supreme ruler of the gods, as well as lord of the sky and rain. He is the king of Mt. Olympics. His weapon is the thunderbolt. Zeus was married to Hera, but he had many affairs. He is the father of Athena, who is said to have sprung from his head. She was his favorite child. What is your favorite Greek god, what gods do you think of.
WHAT ABOUT ZEUS????
Are you guys thinking about Zeus? If not you should start thinking about Zeus. Zeus is one of the main gods of Ancient Greek, he is very important to learn about because he has established and invented things that are now in the modern day. For an example he invented the Olympics. If you still think he's boring well let me tell you this did you know that Zeus is the god of the sky he pretty much used to control the sky and the universe! Zeus had a relation to all storms, if you are wondering what that means I'll tell you, it means that he knows when storms will come or big things happening in the sky. Still think he is boring?
The greek freaks #greekfreak
According to historical records, the first ancient Olympic Games can be traced back to 776 BC. They were dedicated to the Olympian gods and were staged on the ancient plains of Olympia. They continued for nearly 12 centuries until the Emperor Theodosius decreed in 393 A.D. that all such pagan cults be banned. But during those times one of their biggest games was the Pentathlon: Where they did Running / Jumping / Discus Throw.
Running contests included:the stade race, which was the test of speed, covering the Olympic track from one end to the other the 200m foot race and the 400m foot race.
History of sports
The ancient Greeks invented athletic contests and held them in honor for their gods. The Isthmus game was staged every two years at the Isthmus of Corinth. The Pythian games took place every four years near Delphi. The most famous game held at Olympia South- West of Greece, which took place every four years. The ancient Olympics seem to have began in about 776 BC, in honor of Zeus. No woman was allowed to watch the Olympics and only Greeks were aloud to participate. Would you be mad if you couldn't attend the Olympics because of your gender?

Greek Myths
The ancient Greek spiritual beliefs, religion, and oral tradition are all reflected and formulated through myths and legends that besides entertainment provided an art to help us get a taste of how it must have been in ancient greece of the Greek culture as it evolved through at least two thousand years. This pieces of art is related to a myth. This piece of art is said to be from before 500 bce. What do you think the art means?
Hades
I think Hades is pretty cool. I think that because, he can control souls and make them come back to life. https://wallpaperscraft.com/download/smite_hades_art_97643/3840x2160. Hades is on of the brother's of Zeus. Hades has a three headed dog and it is pretty cool because, it is very strong and huge. Hades likes Persephone the goddess of grain, agriculture and fertility. Hades is the god of the underworld which is hell.

The men in greece were training in the military or they went to the theatre for entertainment. The children in Greece occupied their time by playing with toys or games.the majority of people in greece were farmers they mostly farmed grapes and olives because other types of farming was hard because of the climate.Olives were either picked out of trees by hand or knocked down with sticks. Some of the olives were crushed for olive oil and others were eaten.the greeks used olives A LOT they used them for cooking, lighting, beauty products and even for some athletics.and it was believed that uprooting a olive tree was a criminal offence.Grain was harvested around october.boys in greece played games naked so girls were not allowed to watch instead they were to do housework.
